INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Jump Frame

> Measure existing frame by determining the innermost edge of metal frame and build window accordingly (width x height).
> Remove glass and any mullions thus creating a clear unobstructed opening.
> Ensure the front face of existing frame is clean.
> Apply a generous bead of sealant to front face of existing metal frame, additionally apply a generous bead of sealant to backside of new window should the window make contact with existing finish of home.
> Install new window into opening by pulling from the outside in, thus creating a leak free installation.
> Fasten new window with screws in pre-determined locations of jamb to the existing frame.
> Install insulation between new window frame and existing frame and thus creating a thermal break.
> Install a primed wood trim around the perimeter of inside window opening to "marry" the new window to the existing frame.
> Apply sealant to interior wood trim and new vinyl window.
> Fill all nail holes to wood trim, making it paint ready.
> Check exterior of window to ensure a positive and clean seal has been acquired.
> Window is installed.


Full Frame Out

> Measure opening from jamb to jamb and sill to top jamb of existing opening and have window built to these sets of measurements (width x height)
> Cut around perimeter of existing window nail in flange which is usually 1 1/2 inches bigger than the visible window around.
> Once flange had been exposed, remove nails that fasten the window to the exterior of home.
> Once nails have been removed the existing window is removed.
> Upon removal of window a water resistant material (tar paper) is stapled to the sheathing to reseal the building envelope.
> A primed exterior comb-face material is installed to create a clean and consistent surface for the new window to be sealed.
> Apply a liberal bead of sealant to the back side of the new window flange.
> Place new window into new opening from outside to the inside. Ensure a positive seal has been acquired.
> Fasten window at inside of new window jamb at pre-determined locations with 2 1/2 inch screws.
> If window is in an exposed area a metal window flashing is installed at top of window further ensuring a leak free installation.
> A clean bead of paintable caulking is then applied to the interior of new window where it joins the existing window jambs and sill.
> Window is installed.
